The ERH Advent Countup: Day Fourteen
If you're of the mind that the true spirit of Christmas has given way to a pandemic dollargasm of gale-force consumerism, you'd do well to remind yourself of the hideous confection of lumpen product-placement that was 1988's Mac and Me. Making Fred Savage's balls-out Nintendo promo The Wizard look like wan, ascetic Marxism, Mac famously concludes with a five minute dance sequence in a suburban McDonald's in which the director winks at the camera whilst waving beaucoup dollar bills every time the lens flashes on the golden arches.
